Matt Daimler is a successful entrepreneur with a strong product management background and computer engineering degree. He founded the award-winning travel website SeatGuru.com in 2001. After years of significant traffic and revenue growth, industry leader Expedia purchased SeatGuru in early 2007. Prior to SeatGuru, Matt worked for technology companies in San Francisco and Seattle. Matt has a BS in Computer Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Management from Johns Hopkins University and currently resides in New York City.
As part of a never-ending quest to earn frequent flyer miles, Dan founded Smarter Living/Smarter Travel in 1998 as a way of sharing consumer tips and travel bargains with his friends. It became the largest online travel news source providing content to companies such as USA Today, Boston.com and LATimes.com. In May 2007 TripAdvisor acquired Smarter Travel Media, operator of SmarterTravel.com and BookingBuddy.com. Prior to founding Smarter Living, Dan was a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton’s Marketing-Intensive practice, where he specialized in strategic planning for media and entertainment companies. He graduated from Harvard College Magna Cum Laude in Economics. Despite being a Yankees fan, Dan resides happily in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Rob MacLean co-founded Points International Ltd. and has been Chief Executive Officer at Points.com Inc. since February 2002 and served as its President from February 2000 to February 2002. Rob has also recorded an impressive list of leadership roles and achievements during 12 years in the airline and loyalty industry having served as a Vice President and held other positions with Canadian Airlines, an airline from 1988 to 2000. He was also responsible for the airline’s award-winning Canadian Plus loyalty program and served as Canadian Airline’s senior representative on the Oneworld Alliance’s Customer Loyalty Steering Committee. Since 2003, Mr. MacLean has served on the board of directors of Hope Air. Hope Air is the national charity that helps Canadians get to medical treatment when they cannot afford the flight costs.
Teddy Zmrhal is a Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur and learning designer with 15 years’ experience in business formation and strategy, technology, product development, board directorship and teaching/learning sciences. He has started several businesses, non-profit boards and other organizations and consulted to Fortune 100 companies, social enterprises, non-profits and more startups than he can count. His primary interests lie in sustainable business, social ventures and consumer Internet services. Originally from Chicago, Teddy earned a Master’s in Learning Sciences from Northwestern, MBAs in Strategy, Organizational Behavior and Entrepreneurship from Columbia and London Business Schools and was a Visiting Scholar in Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford.
Single minded in helping frequent flyers, he started InsideFlyer magazine in 1986 as a way to guide fellow travelers in understanding the value of their frequent flyer miles. Since then he has founded such leading addresses for the frequent flyer as FlyerTalk, BoardingArea, Milepoint, The Freddie Awards, MileageManager and MileDonor.
